The travel site I run, www.theantitourist.com, has launched a new ‘care package’ contest. The first of every month, we will launch a short contest and the prize will be a box/bag of stuff I have personally collected through my travels. Little treasures and things. This month’s contest is up and running until noon tomorrow. To enter, all you have to do is comment on the link above with your personal definition of what it means to be ‘the anti tourist’. Also, a song will come. I promise. I am in the process of moving this month from NYC to Austin, but I’m moving slowly—exploring along the way. I’m currently in West Virginia—100% out of NYC. I have to say, for as much as I love NYC, it feels good to be freed of the city and its heaviness. It’s good to experience the changing colors of autumn in one of the best places on the plant to experience them. It’s good to breathe fresh air. It’s good to look at real estate in Austin and know that from here on out, I’ll have a house to myself—not just a room in an apartment. Further meaning that I can finally have a room dedicated to music, a room dedicated to The Anti  Tourist, space for guests, space for yoga, space for massages, meditation, dinner parties, craft/workshop/art time, a yard… do you hear that? It’s me being excited. BUT in the midst of all of this moving mess, I’ve also thrown in a trip to Grenada. I’ll be there the middle of this month. All in all, this will be, I predict, the most difficult month for me to keep up the songs every week, but I will do it, even if I don’t make it by every Monday.
